Together with the increase in the amount of work, the number of employees has risen; while in 1950 the number of employees was 397, in 1984 there were 1399 workers in the factory.

Vulkan, which at that time operated under the name “Vulkan tvornica dizalica i ljevaonica Rijeka” in 1992 was divided into four independent companies: Vulkanlijev, Vulkan-dibo, Vulkan-servis i Vulkantrans.

In the same year, these companies, in the privatization process, became joint stock companies, and Vulkan – dibo continued to produce cranes and ship equipment. At that time there were 398 employees in the factory. Because of the changes in the company and social circumstances, in 2000 Vulkan-dibo d.d. announced the bankruptcy.
